My name is Sarah!

I'm an HS advocate based in Toronto, Canada. Aside from HS, I'm a registered Early Childhood Educator, a dog mom, and a writer.

I have my Bachelor's of Communications with a minor in Marketing, a diploma in Early Childhood Education with a certificate in Advanced Studies in Inclusive Programming.

I hope those suffering from Hidradenitis Suppurativa can find a sense of community, feel heard, meet others and learn a thing or two with the resources that I strive to provide!

My Story

I was diagnosed with HS Hurley stage II in 2012, and unfortunately, was later diagnosed with stage III in 2024. I understand the day-to-day difficulties of battling an autoimmune-inflammatory disease with no cure. Living with a chronic illness can feel hard and all-consuming at times. I started advocating in hopes of helping others struggling with HS and for family and friends who are looking to support a loved one with HS to better understand the disease. Luckily, in the past few years, a lot more research across America and Canada alike has been poured into HS! Although we are 1% of the population, we are mighty and united!
