HS de-roofing removes the tunnel tracts this condition creates under the skin — helping to stop recurring flare-ups and hopefully allowing the area to finally heal. Since there’s no cure for this auto inflammatory disease HS is treated with a mixture of medications (biologics, topics, antibiotics, hormonal medications etc) and surgical intervention (typically Hurley stage 2 & 3) (wide excisions & de-roofing’s).
